Retired Teacher Turns Online Marketing Consultant
Hi and welcome to my blog. My name is Edwin (Ed) Cabrera and I live in Yonkers, NY. I’m a retired educator with the Department of Education of NYC. I worked as a math and physical education teacher for over 26 years. I love to teach and consider myself a natural born teacher.
I’m also a martial arts Sensei (teacher), for over 30 years. Teaching and training in martial arts is where I am at peace with the world. I’ve been involved with martial arts since I was a teenager growing up in the mean streets of lower Manhattan. Learning how to defend my self in the martial arts was only the “tip of the iceberg.” Learning how to be a responsible, respectful, caring individual was the bigger lesson. My Sensei taught me a lot about life, self defense and people. But, most importantly he drilled in his students that “Nothing Is Impossible” and “Caring is the Key.”
The mind is the strongest weapon in your arsenal and you can achieve what ever you can perceive. When you care about something, you demonstrate that caring by protecting it, developing it, respecting it, giving it time and making it an integral part of your life.
I’m at a point in my life where I want to live life on my terms. I’m tired of the ‘rat race,’ I don’t want to have to get up at the crack of dawn to commute to work, and I don’t want to deal with screaming testosterone filled children.
I realized that applying my teaching experience and martial arts discipline, I could develop a valuable educational service for business owners. I realized that many business owners are not aware of how online marketing could impact their business. I have been trained by some of the top internet marketing experts in search engine optimization, mobile websites, Google business placement, app development and QR codes. I am dedicated to educating business owners on the vast potential of using internet marketing to reduce their marketing budget, increase their clientele and maximize their presence on the internet.
I Hope you find my blog helpful.

Hello Ed,
I enjoyed reading your blog post. I too am an educator and have been for about 20 years. I love what you wrote about the things your sensai taught you. I am very committed to character development in our children.
Like yourself, “I want to be financially independent and work from home.” Teaching has become such a demanding, time consuming and often challenging profession to be in. I wish you much luck in your new adventure.
Yvonne
