Traditional Internet Marketing
Is your upline promoting a traditional way of marketing on the internet or using attraction marketing strategies?
Do you know the difference?
Lets take a quick look at traditional internet marketing first.
The first thing a traditional network marketing company will ask you to do is make a list of ALL the people you know.
Look through your telephone book (I’m dating myself), doctors, service people, postman, etc.
Don’t exclude anyone, don’t prejudge and don’t worry about if they’re interested in your opportunity.
Call all these people and tell them about your opportunity or invite them to an opportunity gathering.
A business associate of mine recently invited me to his home for an opportunity meeting without telling me about it was about.
I didn’t know he was involved in a network marketing business, I thought I was going to one of his community meetings.
He didn’t ask if I was interested or involved in a company already, which I am.
I could have told him that I was definitely not interested in changing or adding another company.
Needless to say, it was an interesting presentation but I didn’t join.
What happens after you have approached everyone on your list, family, friends, associates, church members, etc.?
You are instructed to use the “3 foot rule,” anyone and everyone you meet you show them about your wonderful opportunity.
Your told to put up flyers, ads on your car, post road side signs, give out business cards, join community groups, chamber of commerce, etc.
This takes a lot of time and effort, but that’s OK because you’re determined.
Except, what if after all this no one signs up? Now What?
You go back to your upline and they suggest you buy online leads, cold calling, and 3 way calling.
You give out CD’s and follow up.
Some people may be so bold that they will approach total strangers in the mall to show them the plan.
What about the famous invite as many people as you can to a business opportunity meeting at a hotel or home.
You may get a few people after you implement or these techniques but will the people you sign up do the same?
Remember, this business is about leverage and duplication.
There is a better way.
What if you only dealt with people who are interested in a network marketing company or a business opportunity?
What if there was a way to qualify people as interested before you approached them with your company?
The most effective way to sell a network marketing opportunity is to find people who are looking and don’t need to be sold on the idea.
They are already sold on a building a business.
What you have to “sell” them on, is that you’re the right person and you have the right opportunity for them.
You have to “sell” yourself first, your expertise, your knowledge and your willingness to prioritize their problems.
What you have to learn is how to get the attention of the people who are looking for your type of business opportunity, how to put yourself in front of these people.
So, the million dollar question is, “How do you attract these people to you?”
Ok, here goes the million dollar answer: People don’t buy products they buy solutions!
You must become a problem solver, a consultant, a go to person, not a sales person of network marketing.
You must present yourself as the answer to their money problems, their housing problem, their family problems, their travel problems, their lack of joy in their lives, etc.
Zig Ziglar said it best:
“You can have anything you WANT in life if you will help enough other people get what they WANT!”
